Shortcutter 2
Description
Shortcutter is back, and Android users are noticing. With more than 500,000 downloads, this app has spent years helping people reach the things they use most, faster. It lets you drop shortcuts into Quick Settings, stash apps and tools in a sidebar or floating toolbox, build home screen shortcuts and widgets, and launch system actions, activities, websites, contacts, and much more.
You decide what one tap means on your phone. Shortcutter just makes it happen.
Quick Settings That Work for You
Stop digging through app drawers to open the flashlight. Shortcutter lets you build custom Quick Settings tiles for apps, shortcuts, activities, web links, contacts, system actions, and Shortcutter’s own tools. Once you create a tile, you add it through Android’s Quick Settings editor and it stays one swipe away from anywhere on your screen.
One Swipe Away
The Sidebar keeps your favourite apps, shortcuts, and tools within reach. Open it from the left edge, the right edge, or the bottom, depending on how you configure it. Prefer something less intrusive? The movable Floating Toolbox floats over your apps so you can launch whatever you need without leaving the current screen.
Arrange the layout, reorder items, and customise the appearance so the tool feels like it belongs to you rather than bolted on.
Build Shortcuts for Almost Anything
Shortcutter handles far more than app icons. You can create shortcuts for:
- Applications and their internal app shortcuts
- Activities that installed apps expose
- Websites
- Contacts
- Direct dial and direct message
- Android settings and system actions
- Shortcutter’s own tools
- Advanced custom actions
Every one of those shortcuts works anywhere: in Quick Settings, the Sidebar, the Floating Toolbox, a widget, or straight on your home screen.
A Toolbox Packed With Real Tools
Beyond shortcuts, Shortcutter ships a genuine Android toolbox. It includes:
- Quick Settings tiles
- Home screen shortcuts and widgets
- Floating calculator
- Stopwatch, timer, counter, and dice
- Clipboard tools
- Weather and forecasts
- Location tools
- Quick reminders
- File browser shortcuts
- Notification tools
- Brightness, display, and font controls
- Flashlight
- Screen capture and screen recording
- Battery and power tools
- Next alarm information
- Device and memory information
- Developer options
- Recent Apps
- Wi-Fi and connectivity tools
- Media and system shortcuts
- And plenty more
Everyday utilities sit a swipe away instead of buried in Settings.
For Android Tinkerers Too
If you enjoy poking around Android, Shortcutter gives you deeper access than a normal launcher would. Launch activities that other apps expose, build custom tiles, and create shortcuts into the parts of Android that normally take several taps to reach.
Some additional controls rely on ADB or Secure Settings permissions, and a few specialist actions need root. Worth noting: root is not required for normal Shortcutter features, so the everyday experience works on any device.
Make It Yours
Customisation runs deep. You control the layout, behaviour, and appearance of both the Sidebar and the Floating Toolbox. Shortcutter 2 adds Theme Studio with live previews, plus controls for colours, backgrounds, gradients, borders, corner rounding, icon shapes, labels, spacing, and layout.
Preview changes as you make them, so you can dial in the look before committing to it.
Shortcutter 2
The refreshed experience is available through the Google Play open beta. The standard release remains available for anyone who prefers the stable build.
The beta brings a redesigned interface, refreshed artwork, improved Sidebar tools, Theme Studio, updated weather and location features, new widgets, and an improved floating calculator.
Why Shortcutter Stands Out
Shortcutter takes a phone full of buried settings and scattered apps and turns it into something you navigate in seconds. Between Quick Settings tiles, edge-launchable sidebars, a floating toolbox, a broad toolset, and deep customisation, it removes the tap tax you pay every day.
